Braden Pence is a criminal defense and civil rights attorney with more than five years of experience representing thousands of individuals at all stages of litigation, including pre-charging, motions practice, trial, appeal, probation, and post-conviction relief.

Braden graduated cum laude from the Seattle University School of Law in 2010, where he was voted Best Oral Advocate by his peers, served as the elected Chair of the Moot Court Board, and successfully completed in local and national moot court and mock trial competitions. Before and during law school, Braden interned with prosecutor and civil litigation firms in a variety of capacities in King, Kitsap, and Snohomish counties, as well as the Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska.

After law school, Braden served as law clerk to the Honorable Thomas J. Wynne (ret.) in Snohomish County Superior Court for one year before leaving to represent political activists in civil rights law suits against the State of Washington and the City of Seattle, as well as protest-related criminal cases. Braden then took a position with the Snohomish County Public Defender Association, where it was his distinct honor to represent thousands of vulnerable people, and where Braden learned firsthand how the criminal justice system is destructively and disproportionately inflicted on communities of color and the poor. Braden joined the Mazzone Law Firm in August 2016.
